When I was 13, I found myself wasting countless hours by myself and holding back the things I wanted to say but could never find the words to. I started writing and puzzling through musical synopsis to link to the words I was writing. Since then, music has become my muse. It kinda filled that sense of being alone. I'm not good with words so these songs are all I have to show for the things I've always wanted to say, but never could. I hope you enjoy listening to what I have to say as much as I enjoy piecing it all together. Everything is done by me and only me in my basement (The Beat Lab). Words can only scratch the surface but when turned into lyrics they change everything. Music became my escape, a way to vent out my thoughts, anger, or excitement. I found it so hard to express myself any other way. Lyrics were so much different then words for me. I felt a certain sense of closure and contentment with the pen and paper. I found myself wide awake at late hours of the night writing and dreaming. I grew a stem of connection with the things I was writing and began to attach melodies and harmonies to those thoughts. I wasn't a singer by trait but I felt so at home when I was voicing my thoughts in a comfortable manner. Nothing quite compared to it. Nothing is more comforting then knowing that someone is listening. To have an idea enclosed in your head and be able to muster that out into thought that is sound. Being able to write something down, attach a melody and harmony, and realize you've got a piece of art that no one else has. It became easier and easier for me and before I knew it, I had an avalanche of notebooks piled up, filled with emotions, thoughts, and dreamscapes. I'm very self conscious by nature and to release something so important to me and so close to me was really difficult. The connection I have with music is kinda of like human and air. I couldn't see myself not doing it and I can't remember the last time I wasn't doing something musically. It's become the focal point of my life and it's given me a sense of completion that nothing else really has/can. Whether society likes it or is absolutely sickened by it, to know someone has listened and given me their time means more to me than anything. When you listen to my music, don't only listen to the lyrics or the instrumentals, but think about the thought and work put into it. Close your eyes and blow your cares in the sky, relax, and be worry free. View things through the narrow gaps and piece together what you can get out of it. Dream the dream that is music. Enjoy! |
